The 4mm offset allows for greater efficiency and form as you move through your gait cycle. The fully protected rock plate will allow you to navigate through the gnarliest rock gardens with ease. With the lugs around the outer edge flared out the shoe has great stability on the tightest turns in the slickest mud. No other company has a fully protected trail shoe at this low of an off set. Thanks Saucony, you hit this one out of the park!

Very comfortable and durable for running on the trail can't beat a Saucony.

I bought this shoe after running on the first version of the Xodus, as well as the 2.0. To my knowledge, this is the only Vibram sole out there in a trail shoe, and since I am hard on shoes as an outside/forefoot striker, I have been going with this model. The lugged sole provides great traction, but as I feared, may not hold up so well for me. After two ~4 mile runs, the short distance I have to run on pavement to get to the trail head scrubbed off 25% of the outer lugs. So, as is typical for me, I am now using Shoe Goo to prolong the life...

The shoe performs and feels great. I was a little concerned about the EBO plate on the harder paths to and from the trail, but the shoe felt really good. Great traction, comfort and stability. My first trail test was a 6 mile medium difficulty run and the shoes were never an issue....which is a good thing. The only negative was in the quality of construction. I ordered through my local running store and noticed one of the shoes wasn't 'put together' as well as the other I could have re-ordered, but wanted the shoes for a run that weekend....now I must confess I can be a perfectionist, thus most people might not even have noticed it. I will be more than glad to post back if the cosmetic issue causes any concern.

The xodus 3 is by far the best yet. I've worn all the previous versions, and this blows the others away. The shoe feels lighter & more nimble than its predessors. The new sole has the best traction of any trail shoe I've worn. I just finished a 7 mile run on rocky & rooted single track & these things really grip. I never slipped or lost traction once. Very well done, Saucony. By far the best in the xodus line.

This is the shoe I've been waiting for. Protection, cushioning, and efficiency from the 4mm drop. For years I've been looking for a shoe with protection, cushioning, and a great fit and I've found it. I wanted to be able to bomb downhills but my previous shoes haven't given me the confidence to do so even though the mind was willing. On a fast 12 miler today I was running downhills as fast as my legs could take me. The low drop means you have to be engaged running meaning using a high cadence and efficient arm swing. Sitting in the back seat slamming your heels is not the way to run in these. Last but not least are the looks (red model). They look awesome and the perceived quality is very high. I put roun,d all white laces on mine and they look even better.
