    • 5 out of 5 I have been wearing The North Face Prophecy II for a few months now and badly needed a waterproof shoe. I ordered The North Face Ultra 105 GTX XCR based on my great past experience with North Face products. Not only is the Ultra 105 more comfortable, it is lightweight and waterproof without overheating your feet. Not restricted to rough inclement terrain, the Ultra 105 also wears well as a casual shoe and looks great with jeans. Sticking with North Face shoes is easy- I have had a bad experience with another outdoor Gore-Tex shoe that proceeded to fall apart at the sole when I washed them and sat them out in the sun to dry. This deconstruction occurred after only a few months of moderate wear. I will continue wearing North Face shoes for their outstanding durability and quality.

Anyway I got myself a pair of Montrail Highlanders. After two months of wearing I hated them; frequent heel and toe pain.

    • 5 out of 5 I love my new shoes. I was looking for ankle support and the firm pillow just below my ankle-bone definitely does the trick. They are very comfortable overall and true to size. My only complaint is that with processing shipping time it took 2 and a half weeks to receive them.

    • 5 out of 5 These are great shoes. Fit just as described. Perfect for watching football games in the rain and running or hiking off road. North Face makes really good quality stuff. Shoes are not quite as cushioned as I hoped but in all other ways, they are great. I guess you can't have lots of cushioning in a shoe designed for rocky trails. You need a firm, rugged sole, which they have.

    • 4 out of 5 I purchased two pair; one for myself and one for my daughter to go on a hiking trip. Shoes came in one day. Mine first felt a bit tight in the width but I am between a B and C width. We both said our feet were great on the trail even not having broken them in. On wet surfaces felt very secure. Happy with these shoes plus they look great!
