  • 4 out of 5 I still have a pair of the 104's and wish they never got rid of them. The 106 are really similar but look a bit more cheap and not as well made. Still a good shoe overall.

  • 5 out of 5 I recently bought these shoes for day hiking and some rock climbing. As with all north face shoes and boots I have purchased, they are a perfect comfortable fit to my size 14 foot. Broke them in this march on the calcite mine trail, black rock, and 29 palms in so-cal and joshua tree among others me and my wife done in a weeks vacation covering about 25 miles. No sign of wear other then the few scraps due to light rock climbing through the trails... great shoe!!!

  • better then the 105's

  • 5 out of 5 This would be the third pair of this series of shoes. (Owed two pairs of 105's) and the last pair lasted two years of daily wear and tear. These new 106's feel more sturdy and feels like they could handle a lot more wear and tear. I love the gore tex aspect of them since these are work shoes and I deal with a lot of water sometimes and it keeps my feet nice and dry. Another plus on these shoes is I have wide feet and they fit great with out ordering a wide size. These are a great pair of shoes I am glad they have keep the same level of quality if not better then the 105's

  • 5 out of 5 I purchased these shoes in November 2010 primarily for day-to-day use because of my past experience with North Face shoes and its waterproof characteristics. Since then, I have also used them to hike/run trails in Asheville, NC and most recently for light hiking/trail-running in Patagonia (Argentina). I am extremely impressed at the support and stability these shoes provide especially in loose rocky terrain and how well the exterior of the shoes has held up to water exposure and jagged rocks. With the exception of a couple of scuffs on the rubber toe guard the shoe still looks brand new. My only gripe with the shoe is that on loose rock trails, some of the loose rocks tend to find their way into my shoe causing me to stop more often than I'd like to get them out. Otherwise, this is a terrific shoe for city walking, light/moderate hiking, trail-running and overall general purpose use. I'd definitely recommend this shoe.
