  • 5 out of 5 I was nervous about this update but I love it! New Balance did a great job. The shoe fits even better and looks much sleeker. Very nicely done! My second time in the shoe was a 10 miler and no problems, issues, or blisters.

  • Almost as good as the 106

  • 4 out of 5 I purchased the New Balance 1064 in 8.5D a few months ago. My Mom is hard to fit, and the 1064 was perfect for her! So, I got back on the website to get another pair and they were gone, replaced by the 1080. The 1080 shoe has a good feel, lightweight (for a cushioned shoe) and flexible without feeling sloppy. I wish it had the same level of arch support and cushioning as the 1064, but it does not. I have only put a few miles on the shoes, but I think I will be happy with them for some time. New Balance continues to make shoes for people like me who need lots of room in the toe box!! Thanks!!

  • Narrow!

  • 5 out of 5 This is one of the few choices in running shoes in size narrow. Very comfortable. There is room for my orthotics. The color is a light blue-lavender.

  • I found my new shoes!

  • 5 out of 5 Prior to this purchase I was a habitual Asics wearer (for running shoes). I made a New Year's resolution to buy more Made in the USA products and particularly avoid Made in China products. I purchased these because they are Made in the USA. It turns out they are also a great running shoe. It only took a couple of days for me to break them in and I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

About New Balance

New Balance collage Over a century ago, New Balance started manufacturing arch supports. Just 70 years later, it has become one of the foremost leaders in sports apparel and footwear. Even before branching out into shoes and athletic gear, it was dedicated to satisfying the needs of the everyday athlete. Known worldwide for its attention to fit, it provides shoes in an extensive range of widths and sizes. The company adheres to the belief that the better the fit, the better the performance. Maintaining five manufacturing facilities in the United States, New Balance continues to meet and exceed its time-tested quality standards.

Having the right fit is essential to performing your best, no matter what your activity. That's why New Balance offers the majority of their shoes in multiple widths, from narrow (2A) to extra-extra-wide (6E). New Balance is the only manufacturer to offer so many width options, ensuring you the best possible fit.

Women's Shoe Widths
4A 2A B D 2E 4E
X-Narrow Narrow Medium Wide X-Wide XX-Wide

Men's Shoe Widths
2A B D 2E 3E 4E 6E
X-Narrow Narrow Medium Wide Wide X-Wide XX-Wide

What size are you?

  • In general, the regular Men's width is "D"; for Women, the regular width is "B".If the majority of shoes you own, or have purchased in the past, fit adequately, these are the widths you should select.
  • If the shoes you own tend to feel overly spacious in width, you should consider selecting a narrower width size. If the shoes you own tend to feel noticeably narrow or snug, then you should consider selecting a wider width size.
  • If your feet seem "between" sizes and you cannot decide which size to select, we suggest you choose the larger size. You can make adjustments for a better fit with socks, insoles, or a different lacing pattern.
  • Since feet always swell during the day, we encourage you to try shoes on later in the day when your feet are at their largest.

Sizing Tips:

  • With respect to feel, your heel should fit snug with no slipping; the midfoot of the shoe under your arch and over the top of your foot should be snug but not tight; and you should have enough room in the toe box to wiggle your toes.
  • People are more than twice as likely to buy a shoe that is too small than too big. Clues that your shoes are too small or narrow include - foot cramping or "falling asleep" while running or just after running or the formation of blisters and calluses between or on your toes.
  • New Balance shoes are made to fit directly out of the box. They do not need to be broken in.
  • Feet typically get bigger with age. We encourage you to have your feet measured every year.
  • Women's feet often become a half-size (or more) larger after pregnancy.
  • Your left and right feet may differ in length or width as much as a full size. Be sure to measure and try shoes on both feet, and always buy shoes to fit your larger foot.

New Balance earned their position as the leader in Total Fitâ„¢ by offering more fit combinations than any other footwear company. In addition to shoe length and width, they use a shoe last. A shoe last is a 360 degree model of the foot used to create each shoe's heel width, instep height, toe box width and toe box depth. Though it's not the primary factor, in conjunction with length and width, the shoe last helps you achieve the best possible fit.
