    • Fantastic Shoe!!!

I must admit that when I first tried this shoe on I was very skeptical. I didn't think a shoe that felt this light and flexible could control my pronation but I'm happy to admit that I was wrong. This shoe fits me like a glove, feels extremely comfortable and gives me great support., I would definitely recommend this shoe to anyone who falls into the stability/ stability plus category.

The Hurricane 14 marked my return to Saucony style running shoes after a 3 year hiatus. Typically in major running shoes, the innovation are small from year to year, but the transition from 13 to 14 here is definitely noticeable. For starters, they have lowered the shoe so your fott is defitinely lower and pointed towards the ground. They added some padding to the bottom of the shoe as well. You will still find solid lacing control and the heel lock, but it is truly the way the shoe fits on you that will make the difference. As a stocky 250 pound+ runner, I require a certain amont of comfortability and shock absorption. Thus far, I have experiences no shin splints and my feet have felt great after about 12 miles in each shoe. By each shoe I mean that I actually buy 2 pair at a time of different colors and then rotate them frequently. As a heavy runner I am even harder on shoes than most and keeping two pair in rotation keeps me from breaking them down too quickly. Overall I am very pleased and feel like I got my money's worth here. You pay a premium for good running shoes and while I am sure there are countless cheaper options, I am not taking any chances with my feet.

I am a heavier runner (6'3" 215 lbs) and these shoes so far have stood up to a beating. They are more neutral than I thought they'd be but they do provide enough cushion for those longer runs. The green/black/grey looks great in person and I hope the elastic laces last a long time because I like how tightly they synch down. For me personally they required about 25 miles before I felt they were truly broken in. I run long distance and do crossfit in them and so far they have worked very well during sprints, bear crawls, and other crossfit exercises.

    • A good shoe

A great light stability shoe. Does not give much support but definitely not neutral. The heel really feels the "Sauc-Fit". The ride is very soft (I land on forefoot). The lacing system is wierd as laces are somewhat elastic. The shoes feel very light on the foot. After 50kM of running on treadmill the shoes start to show sighs of wear and tear. I am very happy with the purchase and 100% would buy he shoes again.

Very good shoe so far. I have to run on dirt and gravel because that's all there is in this part of the world, and these shoes provide excellent cushion. My previous shoe provided more stability but less cushion. I've had no indication of injury yet from the decrease in stability. I greatly appreciate the reduced weight of these shoes. The reduced heal height was almost not noticable. If these shoes are durable, and only miles will tell, then Saucony has an excellent product in the Hurricane 14.

    • Big Changes for Hurricane Users
      Reviewer: Brooklyn Runner

      3/8/2012

Let me start by saying that I am a longtime Hurricane user. I use them for all of my training and races (Marathons). What I like about the Hurricane 14: Smooth ride. These are the lightest shoes I have ever owned. The 8mm heel-to-forefoot drop is a plus. What I didn’t like: Starting from the Hurricane 13 the shoe run slightly narrow. Also, this feels more like a cushion or neutral shoe with slight stability. After running a few miles my heel, left knee and foot started to feel pain. The shoes does give you more movement it’s not stiff like past hurricane’s but that’s not necessary going to help runners who needs more of a cushioned true stability shoe like Hurricanes of the past. Again I only used them twice but with the same results. I will use the 14’s for short runs and use the 12’s (my opinion the best Hurricane’s ever made!) for all of my other runs.
