This is actually my second pair of 993s. I'm not a runner, but rely on these for everyday comfort and reliability. The fact that they're made here in the good ole USA is a plus. I highly recommend these for runners or casual walkers like myself. You won't be disappointed.

BEST SHOES EVER AND MY FAVORITE IN THEIR AWESOME LINE UP. LOVE HOW THEY ARE MADE IN THE USA AND RECOMMENDED BY DOCTORS AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS. MOST OF ALL, THEY ARE SUPER COMFORTABLE.

Hands down the most comfortable running / walking shoe I have ever worn. I have flat feet, so I wear orthotics. The comfort level, even with the orthotics is superior to any Addidas or Asic I have ever worn. Very satisfied. Also, love the retro look. Thanks NB!!!

I bought these to help with heel spur pain and boy did they work! They are the most comfortable shoes that I own. I only wish I could find a more casual (not athletic) shoe that was this comfy. My heel pain is now very sporadic, as opposed to a daily nuisance. These feel great and I like the unique grey color.

I have all kinds of foot issues and this is the best pair of shoes I have found. They are very well cushioned in the ball of the foot, better than any shoe I have ever tried. Since I wear orthotics I chose the wide size and I went up a half size. I don't take out the liner that comes with the shoe since it adds to the cushioning, but I put my orthotic right on top of it. I wear these around the house when I do chores instead of slippers and I feel like I can do a lot more than without them. They are the only shoe that I will wear when I go for walks on the sidewalk. These shoes will add a couple of inches to your height because of all the padding.

Just like people, feet come in all different shapes. Because shoes that fit better perform better, New Balance knows that proper fit means multiple widths. New Balance is the only manufacturer to offer the majority of shoe models in multiple widths.

What size are you?

In general, the regular Men's width is "D"; for Women, the regular width is "B".If the majority of shoes you own, or have purchased in the past, fit adequately, these are the widths you should select.
If the shoes you own tend to feel overly spacious in width, you should consider selecting a narrower width size. If the shoes you own tend to feel noticeably narrow or snug, then you should consider selecting a wider width size.
If your feet seem "between" sizes and you cannot decide which size to select, we suggest you choose the larger size. You can make adjustments for a better fit with socks, insoles, or a different lacing pattern.
Since feet always swell during the day, we encourage you to try shoes on later in the day when your feet are at their largest.

Sizing Tips:

With respect to feel, your heel should fit snug with no slipping; the midfoot of the shoe under your arch and over the top of your foot should be snug but not tight; and you should have enough room in the toe box to wiggle your toes.
People are more than twice as likely to buy a shoe that is too small than too big. Clues that your shoes are too small or narrow include - foot cramping or "falling asleep" while running or just after running or the formation of blisters and calluses between or on your toes.
New Balance shoes are made to fit directly out of the box. They do not need to be broken in.
Feet typically get bigger with age. We encourage you to have your feet measured every year.
Women's feet often become a half-size (or more) larger after pregnancy.
Your left and right feet may differ in length or width as much as a full size. Be sure to measure and try shoes on both feet, and always buy shoes to fit your larger foot.
