Women's Saucony Kinvara 3

The Kinvara 2 have been my favorite shoe for the past year and I was really looking forward to trying the Kinvara 3 (but also a little nervous...). I love all of the updates. They fit my narrow feet like a glove (even better than the Kinvara 2), my heels don't slip or rub, there's plenty of room for my toes and I feel stable running on my forefoot (without worrying about turning my ankle). Thank you for making a great shoe!

I really wanted to love this shoe, particularly with the durability-related improvements in the upper mesh. I just took them on my first run, and I have to say that I agree with the reviews I have seen regarding heel chafing. The rise of the material along the heel does appear to be several mm higher, and yes, I did have chafing after about 4 miles. I have subsequently also decided to stock up on Kinvara 2s while they last. Also... Saucony, I love you, but the colorways this time around are heinous. I mean, function ultimately is more important than fashion, but... really? :( There are too many great options out there to wear ugly shoes that chafe!

The improvements to the Kinvara 3 from the 2 are absolutely noticeable. It's lighter and more flexible - I feel like I'm running on air! I use it both for cross training and running. I also mix wearing it in with my Ride's so I experience the best of both worlds. Thanks!

I just got the new Kinvara 3's in the White/Citron/Pink and I absolutely love them! I usually run in the Mirage 2's but decided to switch it up and have fallen in love with the Kinvara's. They are so lightweight and comfortable and I don't have any pain when running 5+ miles.

I have been wearing the Kinvara's for a couple of years now and I love them. I recently purchased the Kinvara 3 and was a little disappointed. The shoe itself is very similiar to the previous Kinvaras and felt great with the exception of one problem. The heel collar is too high and not as cushioned as the previous models. After running only 2 miles, the back of my heels were raw. I changed to my socks with tabs on them and the problem continued. This is my only issue with the shoe. I compared them to my Kinvara 2's and the heel collar does sit almost half an inch higher and is much stiffer which causes the irritation. I will be stocking up on the Kinvara 2's until the next update comes out.

The Kinvara 3 is an excellent update to the Kinvara 2, which did offer a slightly narrow last and some pressure points as a result. The 3 has a discernibly wider toe box but still sits snugly around the midfoot to give the wearer a sense of stability. I still find the upper a bit too loose, bunching when I lace up for a snug fit at mid foot, but this is more a cosmetic issue than a performance issue. Nice that the sole is given more targeted placement of impact-absorbing rubber pads, also for improved durability. This shoe is definitely not one for a beginner runner or someone unconcerned with form. A mid foot strike is best with the Kinvara - as with all natural, barefoot and minimal shoes. Although the Kinvara isn't necessarily marketed as one of these shoes, it is certainly more "minimal" than the rest of the Saucony line and users should be cautioned that utilizing a heavy heel strike over time in the Kinvara could lead to injury. An excellent update for experienced Kinvara wearers, though.
