Spring Trail Lookbook

Perfect for an early morning run, the "M trail" is a 2.5 mile loop with 580 ft of elevation gain. The moderately difficult trail starts with a steep fireroad climb then winds back down through an oak forest and rolling green hills on its way back to the parking lot.

The initial, steep 3/4 mile climb is rewarded with a beautiful view of downtown SLO when you reach the large concrete "M". This is the perfect place for a quick break to refuel and post a picture of your run.

After reaching the M, the singletrack trail switchbacks down the peak, taking runners through a dense oak forest and across wooden bridges. One may feel like they're miles away from civilization, until the trail opens up with a view of downtown, connecting to Lemon Grove trail as it winds through open fields back to the parking lot.
